The corner went over the outstretched arms of Santos FC's goalie and right to Baykan İnanoğlu. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Santos FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otis Short in the 34th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Lanny Gilmore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aníbal Lorenzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Terence Nicholas might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aníbal Lorenzi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After a rather tough play, The Team FC's Guy Baxter got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 46 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Terence Nicholas. After 47 played minutes, The Team FC's Shelton Flanagan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Team FC reached it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Lanny Gilmore made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, The Team FC's goal looked a bit too open when Terence Nicholas came free, but Aníbal Lorenzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aníbal Lorenzi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Terence Nicholas's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Aaron Smallwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shelton Flanagan in the 59th minute of play. Otis Short blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aaron Smallwood having to make a save. Aníbal Lorenzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terence Nicholas in the 66th minute of the match. In the 69th match minute, The Team FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otis Short to maneuver through the defense. The Team FC made a substitution. Gavin Singleton replaced Otis Short. Otis Short hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Aaron Smallwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cao Shi Yi in the 78th minute of play. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shelton Flanagan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
