Brillion's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 16 minutes into the game, Wiley Enriquez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Marcelo Ojeda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 19 played minutes Brillion got a freekick which was hit by Xaven Carradelo. In the 20th minute Wiley Enriquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Ojeda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marinus Bonato in the 24th minute of play forced Brown Deer AFC's goalkeeper Jack Harrison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Brillion booed when Brown Deer AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Sutil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jack Harrison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvatore Hartley in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Brillion getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Salvatore Hartley had several of the Brown Deer AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 45 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Jack Harrison as he didn't even see the shot coming. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Salvatore Hartley to strike the kick off in the second half. The Brillion players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
