Nyron Sant hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the match, Tobago Gulls's goal looked a bit too open when Ramesh Nelson came free, but Cornell Nakhid reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stefan Jorsling scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cornell Nakhid, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wilmoth Assoon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gus Goodridge having to interfere. Adesh Jai might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gus Goodridge. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adesh Jai ran back to his position shaking his head. Gus Goodridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rex de Souza in the 19th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boscoe Andrew Cipriani during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, Santa Margarita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boscoe Andrew Cipriani to maneuver through the defense. Tobago Gulls's Makandal Bradley couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 24th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Santa Margarita. In the 26th minute of the game, Lewis Najjar landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Samuel John Bailey's late challenge caught a Tobago Gulls's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuel John Bailey helped the player get up and apologised. Tobago Gulls's Mortimer Richards was substituted for Lewis Najjar. In the 27th match minute, Santa Margarita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel John Bailey to maneuver through the defense. When Makandal Bradley came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Tobago Gulls fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Makandal Bradley couldn't finish the play. Cornell Nakhid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephen Voisin in the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Santa Margarita were awarded a corner. Bunji Rampaul went to the cornerflag to take it. Cornell Nakhid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramesh Nelson in the 36th minute of play. Cornell Nakhid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramesh Nelson in the 40th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Tobago Gulls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gillian Panday to maneuver through the defense. Bunji Rampaul took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cornell Nakhid. Tobago Gulls's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mortimer Richards to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Tobago Gulls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rex de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Cornell Nakhid made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramesh Nelson in the 53rd minute. Mortimer Richards struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Gus Goodridge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tobago Gulls. Mortimer Richards recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute, Wilmoth Assoon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stephen Voisin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cornell Nakhid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Jorsling, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Ramesh Nelson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cornell Nakhid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Jorsling in the 84th minute of the match. Gus Goodridge came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Tobago Gulls's Mortimer Richards. But to his dismay, Mortimer Richards quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. With a little luck, Tobago Gulls's Cornell Nakhid got control of the ball when Ramesh Nelson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wilmoth Assoon struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Gus Goodridge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tobago Gulls. Adesh Jai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Tobago Gulls's Cornell Nakhid got control of the ball when Christopher Yorke tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Santa Margarita supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Santa Margarita would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
