The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Angus Abdul-Hamid managed to get in a good position for a shot. club sando's supporters rose to their feet, but Angus Abdul-Hamid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francis Beetham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Angus Abdul-Hamid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francis Beetham came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by club sando's Angus Abdul-Hamid. But to his dismay, Angus Abdul-Hamid quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Francis Beetham stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angus Abdul-Hamid's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rupert Best got free with Lauderic Ramjohn-Richards in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Navet's Sugar Duke got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After some careless play in the Navet defense, Angus Abdul-Hamid kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francis Beetham. The Navet fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francis Beetham should have stopped the shot. Isaiah Sammy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauderic Ramjohn-Richards having to interfere. Roderick Ogunbanke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Lauderic Ramjohn-Richards tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isaiah Sammy to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Rupert Best's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lauderic Ramjohn-Richards was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. When Don Persaud came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the club sando fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Don Persaud couldn't finish the play. Don Persaud could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Francis Beetham made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in club sando's zone, Isaiah Sammy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauderic Ramjohn-Richards came out of the goal and Isaiah Sammy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th minute, Don Persaud ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francis Beetham was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. If Don Persaud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to club sando getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Angus Abdul-Hamid hit a great ball. Rupert Best fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauderic Ramjohn-Richards having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Rupert Best shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauderic Ramjohn-Richards saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Angus Abdul-Hamid fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 87th minute club sando were awarded a corner. Glenn Gay went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led club sando's Glenn Gay to fire away a dangerous shot which Francis Beetham despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, club sando's goal looked a bit too open when Isaiah Sammy came free, but Lauderic Ramjohn-Richards reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Don Persaud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Francis Beetham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The club sando supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing club sando would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
