After having played for 13 minutes, Primo Elberdin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Asunción FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Primo Elberdin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th match minute, Asunción FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urki Bernia to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, Iturbe AFC's Cordairo Castro broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A collision led to Iturbe AFC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Frascuelo Echavarria hit a great ball. Zemario Barrantes came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Asunción FC's Teofilo Lecubarri. But to his dismay, Teofilo Lecubarri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 25 minutes into the match, Asunción FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tancredo Turres came free, but Leandro Arraya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 played minutes Asunción FC got a freekick which was hit by Colon Castorena. The crowd rose to their feet as Iturbe AFC's Tancredo Turres slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leandro Arraya. That made the score 1-2 after 27 minutes of play. In the 31st minute, Primo Elberdin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Asunción FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Llope Grado hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Sotil Asenjo in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Asunción FC's Urki Bernia. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tancredo Turres stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Primo Elberdin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zemario Barrantes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, Primo Elberdin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Asunción FC's Adriano Traspuesto quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Innocenzio Colon, made in the 80th minute of the game. 81 minutes in the game, Teofilo Lecubarri fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Zemario Barrantes having to interfere. Asunción FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
