After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Aresti Borras managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caballero's supporters rose to their feet, but Aresti Borras was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro Urtueta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mauricio Olloque didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alvaro Fragua went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bibiano Salcedo in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauricio Olloque prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aresti Borras struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Ramiro Urtueta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caballero. Aresti Borras could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Ramiro Urtueta made a huge save. If Joao Ocaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Caballero's Cesar Checa got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Alvaro Fragua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Mauricio Olloque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Alvaro Fragua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mauricio Olloque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quinton Blanquel, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After 67 played minutes Caballero got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Gordon. 70 minutes into the match, Union's goal looked a bit too open when Joao Ocaña came free, but Ramiro Urtueta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Bibiano Salcedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Olloque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caballero's Mauricio Olloque proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Caballero from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quinton Blanquel in the 86th minute of play forced Caballero's goalkeeper Mauricio Olloque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Quinton Blanquel's late challenge caught a Caballero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Quinton Blanquel helped the player get up and apologised. Ramiro Urtueta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joao Ocaña in the 93rd minute of the match. Bibiano Salcedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Olloque having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Union had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
