Ciudad del Este's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Modesto Aubert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Ciudad del Este's Checa Bayona got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Correa's Leandro Raireta got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuxila Botbol in the 92nd minute of play forced Correa's goalkeeper Cornelio Alderete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
