The audience was convinced that Amadeo Irigoras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lon Munozcano was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. If Suero Lanis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xian Vaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Suero Lanis in the 28th minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Mburica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naike Villalba to maneuver through the defense. After 43 played minutes Mburica got a freekick which was hit by Beltxe Magdaleno. Mburica's Lon Munozcano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Irigoras in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Suero Lanis made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Borja's goal looked a bit too open when Suero Lanis came free, but Xian Vaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Borja's Xian Vaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Suero Lanis in the 53rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Borja's zone, Vedillo Lasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xian Vaya came out of the goal and Vedillo Lasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute Eutor Bribiesca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lon Munozcano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mburica's Ostots Asas got a free kick in the 60th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Borja's Victoro Masses tried to score from far away in the 61st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Vedillo Lasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Mburica's goalkeeper Lon Munozcano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amadeo Irigoras. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vedillo Lasa in the 69th minute of play forced Borja's goalkeeper Xian Vaya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 1-1 became the score in the 71st minute when Suero Lanis elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Eutor Bribiesca was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Borja's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 80thth minute of the game Eutor Bribiesca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mburica's Lon Munozcano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Suero Lanis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vedillo Lasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xian Vaya. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vedillo Lasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Vedillo Lasa struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Xian Vaya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mburica. If Suero Lanis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte Robledo kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Vedillo Lasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xian Vaya having to make a save. Borja succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Mburica had controlled the match.
