After 11 played minutes Club Sportivo Luqueño got a freekick which was hit by Licerio Santillana. Kauan Reis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Txerran Altemiz in the 13th minute. Martinez Bazquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marquinhos Tróia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aymerick Lacave's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Martinez Bazquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Sportivo Luqueño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Resistencia the free kick. A collision led to Club Sportivo Luqueño getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Martinez Bazquez hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the match, Chepe Uria notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Club Sportivo Luqueño's Marquinhos Tróia. Marquinhos Tróia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Resistencia fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Resistencia's Chepe Uria looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Txerran Altemiz came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Club Sportivo Luqueño fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Txerran Altemiz couldn't finish the play. Club Sportivo Luqueño's Martinez Bazquez got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th match minute, Club Sportivo Luqueño was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oxarra Cuebas to maneuver through the defense. Aymerick Lacave struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Marquinhos Tróia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Resistencia. After having played for 42 minutes, Chepe Uria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Resistencia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chepe Uria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the game, Licerio Santillana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Sportivo Luqueño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Resistencia the free kick. In the 45th minute there was a penalty for Resistencia. Garoa Guill stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marquinhos Tróia. 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Chepe Uria made the kick off in the second half. Jon Millan hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Club Sportivo Luqueño's Marquinhos Tróia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Club Sportivo Luqueño from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Resistencia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Club Sportivo Luqueño throughout the match.
