Teodoro Mendana kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Zayvius Olarria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Santoni having to interfere. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cerro Porteño's goalkeeper Teobaldo Santoni, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Real United F.C.'s Lobo Gos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliveiro Cortada in the 12th minute of play. After 16 minutes, Mirande Val mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cerro Porteño and the Real United F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cerro Porteño! In the 18th minute there was a penalty for Real United F.C.. Nel Mendia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Teobaldo Santoni. 0-1. The Cerro Porteño players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Real United F.C. were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oliveiro Cortada to make the kick off. Cerro Porteño's Oliveiro Cortada got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Perrando Avienzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 61 minutes, Oliveiro Cortada managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cerro Porteño's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliveiro Cortada was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Cerro Porteño's Perrando Avienzo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lobo Gos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Perrando Avienzo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lobo Gos having to make a save. In the 73rd minute Oliveiro Cortada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lobo Gos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Cerro Porteño booed when Real United F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zayvius Olarria didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute Perrando Avienzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lobo Gos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maju Almazan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Teobaldo Santoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
