The supporters of Sanguina booed when LA GALAXY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Angostina didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Xinto Barrientos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cris Molinillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilabert Cuenia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in LA GALAXY's zone, Cris Molinillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilabert Cuenia came out of the goal and Cris Molinillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute Xamo Zucunza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristofol Achueta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xamo Zucunza in the 16th minute of play forced Sanguina's goalkeeper Cristofol Achueta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilabert Cuenia made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Xinto Barrientos sent off a good shot on target. Gilabert Cuenia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cris Molinillo in the 18th minute of play. Cris Molinillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xinto Barrientos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Sanguina's goal looked a bit too open when Xamo Zucunza came free, but Cristofol Achueta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Sanguina getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Laurendi Mussoll hit a great ball. If Osoitz Arganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Osoitz Arganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. LA GALAXY's supporters rose to their feet, but Osoitz Arganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristofol Achueta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Osoitz Arganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristofol Achueta having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Zoilo Ibar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilabert Cuenia. LA GALAXY's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Cris Molinillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cris Molinillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilabert Cuenia having to interfere. When Osoitz Arganza came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the LA GALAXY fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osoitz Arganza couldn't finish the play. In the 76th minute, Sanguina's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Osoitz Arganza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sanguina's Cris Molinillo got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to LA GALAXY getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Rico Giraldez hit a great ball. Gilabert Cuenia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xinto Barrientos in the 92nd minute of play. Osoitz Arganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
