In the 16th minute of the match, Yoelvis Roldan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Patricio Apellaniz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pio FC's Yoelvis Roldan pulled a muscle in his back after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Dino Cantera's late challenge caught a Pio FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dino Cantera helped the player get up and apologised. Pio FC made a substitution. Ryan Jeantes replaced Yoelvis Roldan. 21 minutes into the match, Pio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vidal Arzube came free, but Ruben Fontecha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Segundo Verde came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Ybytymi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Segundo Verde couldn't finish the play. Pio FC's Ruben Fontecha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segundo Verde in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vidal Arzube in the 31st minute of play forced Pio FC's goalkeeper Ruben Fontecha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Ybytymi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Ximeno came free, but Patricio Apellaniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ybytymi FC's Cesareo Cossa got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 37th minute, Vidal Arzube left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ybytymi FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ybytymi FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Ryan Jeantes scored to the left of an out of position Patricio Apellaniz, making the score, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ramiro Ximeno in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Apellaniz saved Ybytymi FC from getting behind. Vidal Arzube sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 55th minute, Elias Itzaina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patricio Apellaniz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Segundo Verde got free with Ruben Fontecha in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Ybytymi FC's Ruben Fontecha threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vidal Arzube, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
