Mbopicua's Ermano Averasturi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alderete in the 3rd minute of play. Lourenco Morenas charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lourenco Morenas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd match minute, Mbopicua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lourenco Morenas to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute, Carlos Alderete fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ermano Averasturi, passed just outside the right post. Maximo Escajedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bibiano Caborredondo in the 8th minute of the match. Mbopicua's Ermano Averasturi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alderete in the 10th minute of play. Lourenco Morenas kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Ermano Averasturi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alderete in the 14th minute of play. Ermano Averasturi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Alderete, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Txordon Mallen fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mbopicua's protests and gave Txordon Mallen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th match minute, Mbopicua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Txordon Mallen to maneuver through the defense. Lando Agustino took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ermano Averasturi. Mbopicua's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 23rd minute San Lorenzo were awarded a corner. Lando Agustino went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Lando Agustino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mbopicua's Ermano Averasturi did a great save. After 26 minutes, Marcelo Pages mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mbopicua and the San Lorenzo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marcelo Pages hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Ermano Averasturi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Alderete, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ermano Averasturi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alderete in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Cerezal in the 36th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Maximo Escajedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 played minutes Mbopicua got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Pages. During the 40th minute of the match Txordon Mallen completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Txordon Mallen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 41 played minutes Mbopicua got a freekick which was hit by Txordon Mallen. Ermano Averasturi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alderete in the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Lando Agustino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Lorenzo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bibiano Caborredondo to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Lando Agustino made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Mbopicua's Ermano Averasturi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 55th play minutes Lando Agustino shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Ermano Averasturi and just under the crossbar into goal. If Bibiano Caborredondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mbopicua's Ermano Averasturi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lando Agustino in the 63rd minute of play. Vennancio Albarez hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Lando Agustino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermano Averasturi having to interfere. Mbopicua's Ermano Averasturi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lando Agustino in the 73rd minute of play. Ermano Averasturi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lando Agustino, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Ermano Averasturi came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by San Lorenzo's Lando Agustino. But to his dismay, Lando Agustino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. 81 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's Carlos Alderete sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ermano Averasturi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 83 played minutes Mbopicua got a freekick which was hit by Bibiano Caborredondo. Ermano Averasturi came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by San Lorenzo's Lando Agustino. But to his dismay, Lando Agustino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 94 minutes into the match, Carlos Alderete notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Mbopicua's Ermano Averasturi. Ermano Averasturi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. San Lorenzo fully deserved thier win.
