Franquelis Peralta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Santo Domingo's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Berger came free, but Franquelis Peralta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Felipe Berger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santo Domingo's Franquelis Peralta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Agilberto Jara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tamboril AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Agilberto Jara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franquelis Peralta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agilberto Jara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franquelis Peralta having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Felipe Berger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipe Berger to make the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Agilberto Jara fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tamboril AFC's protests and gave Agilberto Jara a yellow card for diving instead. Agilberto Jara hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. When Jafet Lozano came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Santo Domingo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jafet Lozano couldn't finish the play. After having played for 67 minutes, Felipe Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tamboril AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felipe Berger scored 0-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franquelis Peralta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 75 minutes, Felipe Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Tamboril AFC fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Tamboril AFC's Felipe Berger looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agustín Pardo during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
