Melido Macedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Almaguer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. If Pedro Aranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute Pedro Aranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Almaguer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Germosén Atlético's Pedro Aranda in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barahona's goalie prevented a goal. Rubén Lugo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Jerson Grey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adriano Guevara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jerson Grey. Germosén Atlético's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Germosén Atlético booed when Barahona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Ojeda didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Jerson Grey managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Barahona's Ciro Pinto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. César Ojeda struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Jerson Grey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barahona. Rubén Lugo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jerson Grey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Almaguer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melido Macedo in the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Barahona's Severino Collins seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Severino Collins the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Barahona protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Severino Collins had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 41st minute, one of Barahona:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barahona. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melido Macedo to make the kick off. Emanuel Almaguer came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Germosén Atlético's Melido Macedo. But to his dismay, Melido Macedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 56 minutes into the match, Barahona's Rubén Lugo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerson Grey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, Barahona's goalkeeper Emanuel Almaguer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Aranda. The supporters of Barahona booed when Germosén Atlético was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ed Canal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerson Grey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Ojeda, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Melido Macedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Emanuel Almaguer came out and tried to block the shot, but Melido Macedo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 74th minute. Rubén Lugo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jerson Grey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Aranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Almaguer having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubén Lugo in the 91st minute of play forced Germosén Atlético's goalkeeper Jerson Grey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Melido Macedo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Emanuel Almaguer, passed just outside the right post. 96 minutes into the match, Barahona's goalkeeper Emanuel Almaguer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Aranda. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Germosén Atlético had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
