Spectators: 6862 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1862, VIP seats: 0) Cañafistol's Mauro Aguirre started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, San Juan's Julio Casas got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Santino Villarreal came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Cañafistol's Toño Espinosa. But to his dismay, Toño Espinosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Cristian Ortiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Correa, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 16 minutes into the game, San Juan's Dario Alvarez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristian Ortiz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tito Solís got free with Cristian Ortiz in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mauro Correa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Tito Solís came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the San Juan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tito Solís couldn't finish the play. Mauro Correa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Ortiz having to interfere. Tito Solís in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cristian Ortiz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Mauro Correa in the 36th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Cristian Ortiz kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. If Toño Espinosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Santino Villarreal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Aguirre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Cañafistol's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Correa came free, but Cristian Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Omar Godín kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Mauro Correa struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Cristian Ortiz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Juan. In the 60th minute, Omar Godín hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, San Juan's Amadeo Molina broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Cañafistol's Cristian Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Rojas in the 63rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mauro Correa in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Ortiz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81st minute of the match Benicio Pardo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Santino Villarreal skillfully saved the ball. After 83 played minutes Cañafistol got a freekick which was hit by Izzy Rey. There was no doubt that San Juan were the better team. San Juan's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
