In the 12th minute, Anderson Burgos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th minute Freddy Reyes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeo Pedraza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17thth minute of the game Freddy Reyes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Duarte's Tadeo Pedraza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Freddy Reyes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tadeo Pedraza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Graciano Barrera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Villa Elisa! After a defensive mix-up in Duarte's zone, Graciano Barrera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeo Pedraza came out of the goal and Graciano Barrera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the match, Villa Elisa's goal looked a bit too open when Jacobo Peñalba came free, but Lesli Bravo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Tadeo Pedraza managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Villa Elisa's Graciano Barrera fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Graciano Barrera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Elisa's supporters rose to their feet, but Graciano Barrera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tadeo Pedraza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Duarte's Jacobo Peñalba got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
