Hanley Ibarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Peñalba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Hanley Ibarra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Victor Castro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hanley Ibarra. Los Cacaos AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victor Castro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Tadeo Pedraza didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Los Cacaos AC's Marcos Crispín shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacobo Peñalba was the one to do the kick off. Salomón Martiarenas charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Victor Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Duarte getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Juan Montero hit a great ball. In the 79th match minute, Duarte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efraín Chávez to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute of the match Luis Irizarry sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tadeo Pedraza skillfully saved the ball. Hanley Ibarra made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Victor Castro sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Los Cacaos AC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Wilkin Dickson hit a great ball. Fidel Dickson's late challenge caught a Duarte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fidel Dickson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Duarte's Victor Castro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Duarte had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
