Spectators: 6960 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1960, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stanley Santacruz started the match with the kick off. Pablo Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilmer Padilla in the 12th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilmer Padilla in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pablo Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Cabarete's Johnny Samaniego got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 31st minute, Ambrosio Riojas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rica FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 36 played minutes Cabarete got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Peralta. After 37 played minutes Cabarete got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Peralta. Ambrosio Riojas might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgar Sandford. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ambrosio Riojas ran back to his position shaking his head. Ambrosio Riojas kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Bruno Peralta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pablo Santos having to make a save. When Wilmer Padilla came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Cabarete fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilmer Padilla couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

60 minutes into the match, Cabarete's goal looked a bit too open when Stanley Santacruz came free, but Edgar Sandford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Stanley Santacruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rica FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanley Santacruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgar Sandford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cabarete's Bruno Peralta got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rica FC's Pablo Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Peralta in the 68th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cabarete's zone, Ambrosio Riojas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Sandford came out of the goal and Ambrosio Riojas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Cabarete getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Norman Uribe hit a great ball. Edgar Sandford acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 73rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ignacio Sosa. Bruno Peralta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Santos having to interfere. Cabarete's Norman Uribe got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ambrosio Riojas struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Edgar Sandford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rica FC. In the 92nd minute Stanley Santacruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Sandford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Stanley Santacruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Cabarete supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rica FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Rica FC.
