When Leandro Allende came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Arenoso FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leandro Allende couldn't finish the play. Huberto Montaño made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Leandro Allende sent off a good shot on target. Huberto Montaño was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 33rd minute, one of Mao AC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mao AC. The referee gave Arenoso FC a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. Lautaro Arteaga's late challenge caught a Arenoso FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Arteaga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Arenoso FC booed when Mao AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Arteaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, Mao AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braulio Quiroga to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The referee showed Lenny Benavides the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
