Juan Luis Vega scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luis Peralta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lázaro Peñalba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Montaño, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute, Franco de la Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute, Evaristo Segovia had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 9 minutes, Beltrán Fuentes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garabito and the PaSantes de la UASD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Beltrán Fuentes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lázaro Peñalba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Albacete in the 12th minute of the match. Lázaro Peñalba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rob Tejeda in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, one of Garabito:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lázaro Peñalba had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Atilio Rey's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Garabito's Lázaro Peñalba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Montaño in the 24th minute of play. Juan Luis Vega struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Luis Peralta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garabito. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Juan Luis Vega managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garabito's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Luis Vega was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luis Peralta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute, Rob Tejeda made a precise shot to the right of Lázaro Peñalba. Garabito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Luis Vega in the 42nd minute of play forced PaSantes de la UASD's goalkeeper Luis Peralta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Juan Luis Vega notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of PaSantes de la UASD's Luis Peralta. Luis Peralta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guido Albacete to make the kick off. If Samuel Monroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Monroy in the 59th minute of play forced PaSantes de la UASD's goalkeeper Luis Peralta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in PaSantes de la UASD's zone, Samuel Monroy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luis Peralta came out of the goal and Samuel Monroy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 3-1 became the score in the 73rd minute when Juan Luis Vega elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Rob Tejeda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th minute, Franco de la Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 94 minutes, Juan Luis Vega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garabito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Luis Vega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
