The corner led Miches's Plácido Figueroa to fire away a dangerous shot which Bartolo Melgar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Denny Rosado took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Bartolo Melgar to make any attempt to save it. Bartolo Melgar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hipólito Cortez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charles Mella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Consuelo CD's Bartolo Melgar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Plácido Figueroa in the 56th minute of play. Plácido Figueroa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Bartolo Melgar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Federico Ávila fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
