After 3 minutes, José Maria Reynoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Consuelo CD and the HORTA UA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee ignored Consuelo CD's protests and gave Armando Herrero a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Consuelo CD getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Armando Herrero hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Ernesto Arrese hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Armando Herrero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elías Willick. HORTA UA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Herrero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raimundo Hortas in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elías Willick saved HORTA UA from getting behind. Raimundo Hortas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elías Willick read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Herrero in the 37th minute of play forced HORTA UA's goalkeeper Elías Willick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elías Willick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Herrero in the 44th minute of the match. Raimundo Hortas took the ball and in the 49 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elías Willick. Elías Willick dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abraham Riojas was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 55 minutes, Armando Herrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Consuelo CD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Herrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th match minute, HORTA UA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Óscar Cooper to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Óscar Cooper hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th match minute, Consuelo CD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Ávila to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 77 minutes, Max Centurión managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HORTA UA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Max Centurión was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 79 minutes, Diómedes Estrada mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the HORTA UA and the Consuelo CD players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Consuelo CD booed when HORTA UA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diómedes Estrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armando Herrero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Elías Willick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Ernesto Arrese hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Charlie Barreiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bartolo Melgar. Consuelo CD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
