He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in World Class reached it. The supporters of SantiagoFc booed when World Class was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denny Aranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 28 played minutes World Class got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Abbott. 31 minutes into the match, SantiagoFc's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Ruiz came free, but Julio Patterson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SantiagoFc's Lesli Ochoa got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in World Class's zone, Lesli Ochoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teobaldo Fuentes came out of the goal and Lesli Ochoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of SantiagoFc booed when World Class was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Melgar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casimiro Contreras charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Casimiro Contreras the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rob Melgar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Lesli Ochoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Domingo Sarabia fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SantiagoFc's protests and gave Domingo Sarabia a yellow card for diving instead. Domingo Sarabia kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Lesli Ochoa took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teobaldo Fuentes. Teobaldo Fuentes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Lesli Ochoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lisandro Allison kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. If Rob Melgar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebio Burton in the 73rd minute of play forced SantiagoFc's goalkeeper Julio Patterson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
