The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Amadeo Frederik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amaury Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeo Frederik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amaury Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeo Frederik in the 19th minute of play. Jenaro Silva hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Amadeo Frederik put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Amaury Noboa. 32 minutes into the match, Amadeo Frederik had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amaury Noboa. La Romana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amadeo Frederik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Narciso Gartzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Independencia CF's Narciso Gartzi got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonidas Friedman in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfonso Espinoza saved Independencia CF from getting behind. If Narciso Gartzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amadeo Frederik stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in La Romana's zone, Mendy Rubio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amaury Noboa came out of the goal and Mendy Rubio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amaury Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Gartzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amadeo Frederik in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amaury Noboa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 57 minutes into the game, Independencia CF's Amadeo Frederik nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amaury Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Amadeo Frederik's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Amaury Noboa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Amadeo Frederik let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 79th minute shot 0-6 at rihgt post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amadeo Frederik in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amaury Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Independencia CF's Amadeo Frederik was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 86th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Amaury Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amadeo Frederik went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score.
