Lenny Ayala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rico Gasol, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 18th match minute, Pirata F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rico Gasol to maneuver through the defense. If Armando Palacios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jafet Naranjo in the 24th minute of play forced Pirata F.C.'s goalkeeper Yorkis Madrid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Máximo Peña took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lenny Ayala. Yorkis Madrid made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Armando Palacios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armando Palacios could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Yorkis Madrid made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Armando Palacios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yorkis Madrid having to interfere. Jafet Naranjo struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Yorkis Madrid didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Molza United. In the 64th minute Armando Palacios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yorkis Madrid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
