Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Leonidas Friedman took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 minutes of play, SantiagoFc's Lesli Ochoa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amaury Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 16 played minutes La Romana got a freekick which was hit by Aquilino Schultz. Leonidas Friedman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SantiagoFc's Lesli Ochoa got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes, La Romana's Randor Albright shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Patterson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in La Romana reached it. When Lisandro Allison came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the SantiagoFc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lisandro Allison couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, La Romana's Julio Patterson threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Leonidas Friedman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Amaury Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolás Bucher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Julio Patterson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The wind increased when Lesli Ochoa made the kick off in the second half. When Lisandro Allison fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SantiagoFc's protests and gave Lisandro Allison a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd match minute, SantiagoFc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lisandro Allison to maneuver through the defense. Amaury Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvano Figueroa, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. SantiagoFc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Romana the free kick. The supporters of La Romana booed when SantiagoFc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lesli Ochoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolás Bucher hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SantiagoFc had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
