The crowd rose to their feet as Rapid Punta Cana's Patricio Veguri slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Isidoro Balboa. That made the score 2-0 after 15 minutes of play. If Patricio Veguri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Veguri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Las Terrenas's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Veguri came free, but Isidoro Balboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ahmet Emir Demirci struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Kurt Rosen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Las Terrenas. If Patricio Veguri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Patricio Veguri came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Rapid Punta Cana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Veguri couldn't finish the play. Kurt Rosen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adnan Menderes in the 35th minute of play. If Patricio Veguri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Patricio Veguri put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Isidoro Balboa. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmet Emir Demirci was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Adnan Menderes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the game, Patricio Veguri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Isidoro Balboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Patricio Veguri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isidoro Balboa was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After taking down the ball on Rapid Punta Cana's corner Domingo Lozano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Isidoro Balboa quite easily take care of the ball. Patricio Veguri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Isidoro Balboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patricio Veguri might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isidoro Balboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The audience was convinced that Patricio Veguri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isidoro Balboa was relentless in the 86th minute of the game.
