With an all-out effort, Chulos del Caribe's Andy Espinoza threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Martín Luján, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Roque Boyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Basilio Fajardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Avilés, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Federico Cuenca might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andy Espinoza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Federico Cuenca ran back to his position shaking his head. Royal Caribbean's Andy Espinoza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martín Luján in the 13th minute of play. If Federico Cuenca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Federico Cuenca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Andy Espinoza came out and tried to block the shot, but Federico Cuenca slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. David Nava hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 33 minutes, Mario Avilés mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Royal Caribbean and the Chulos del Caribe players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Mario Avilés hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andy Espinoza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Federico Cuenca went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mario Avilés to make the kick off. Royal Caribbean's Tony Sepúlveda got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57thth minute of the game Martín Luján who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Royal Caribbean's Andy Espinoza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Andy Espinoza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Luján in the 63rd minute of play. After 78 minutes of play, Chulos del Caribe's Federico Cuenca made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andy Espinoza was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th minute, Federico Cuenca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chulos del Caribe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Cuenca in the 89th minute of play forced Royal Caribbean's goalkeeper Andy Espinoza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martín Luján in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andy Espinoza saved Royal Caribbean from getting behind. 93 minutes into the match, Royal Caribbean's goal looked a bit too open when Martín Luján came free, but Andy Espinoza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eberardo Olivares fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal Caribbean's protests and gave Eberardo Olivares a yellow card for diving instead. There was no doubt that Chulos del Caribe were the better team. Chulos del Caribe's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
