Mario Avilés received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Adolfo Zambrano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Celestino Carreón came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the El Peñón FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celestino Carreón couldn't finish the play. If Anthony Canal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 34 minutes, Anthony Canal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Peñón FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anthony Canal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidoro Ledesma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Espinoza having to interfere. A collision led to Royal Caribbean getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Edinson Irizarry hit a great ball. Isidoro Ledesma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andy Espinoza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Andy Espinoza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthony Canal, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mario Avilés to make the kick off. Celestino Carreón received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Andy Espinoza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andy Espinoza acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 55th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fausto Rendón. Roque Boyd charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roque Boyd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th match minute, Royal Caribbean was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Boyd to maneuver through the defense. Andy Espinoza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthony Canal, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Al Schultz during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of El Peñón FC booed when Royal Caribbean was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Al Schultz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes in the game Danilo Flores got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. If Isidoro Ledesma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mario Avilés fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Zambrano having to interfere. Andy Espinoza didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 77th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Isidoro Ledesma hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Mario Avilés took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adolfo Zambrano. Adolfo Zambrano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Isidoro Ledesma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Andy Espinoza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as El Peñón FC's Anthony Canal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Andy Espinoza. That made the score 1-3 after 91 minutes of play. 95 minutes into the match, El Peñón FC's Anthony Canal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andy Espinoza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. El Peñón FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
