A very good chance. Bernard Macedo came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Rapid Punta Cana's Domingo Lozano. But to his dismay, Domingo Lozano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Patricio Veguri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernard Macedo having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Patricio Veguri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernard Macedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Patricio Veguri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernard Macedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patricio Veguri's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de Bonao's Matias Cuéllar got a free kick in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Rapid Punta Cana's Patricio Veguri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernard Macedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Veguri in the 40th minute of play forced Estudiantes de Bonao's goalkeeper Bernard Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Patricio Veguri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid Punta Cana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Veguri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernard Macedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingo Lozano went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Patricio Veguri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 59 played minutes Estudiantes de Bonao got a freekick which was hit by Albert Medrano. Patricio Veguri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernard Macedo having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patricio Veguri in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernard Macedo saved Estudiantes de Bonao from getting behind. Patricio Veguri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernard Macedo having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Rapid Punta Cana's Patricio Veguri slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bernard Macedo. That made the score 0-5 after 74 minutes of play. William Bazán sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Veguri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Bernard Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rapid Punta Cana's Jorge Segovia got a free kick in the 81st minute. After some careless play in the Estudiantes de Bonao defense, Domingo Lozano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernard Macedo. The Estudiantes de Bonao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernard Macedo should have stopped the shot.
