Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Shamrock Rovers's Hameur Benhabiles started the match with a crisp pass. The referee showed Ismaël Zaoui the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 73 played minutes Shamrock Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Ismaël Zaoui. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rachid Abbas got free with Brahim Drioueche in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Hameur Benhabiles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hameur Benhabiles in the 93rd minute of play forced August AFC's goalkeeper Brahim Drioueche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
