After having played for 19 minutes, Ali Besseghir managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. South Eliot FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Besseghir was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Madjid Djura stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rachid Abdelghani's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Caseyville's zone, Ali Besseghir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noureddine Zeghdoud came out of the goal and Ali Besseghir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute Ali Besseghir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noureddine Zeghdoud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ali Besseghir struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Noureddine Zeghdoud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Eliot FC. With an all-out effort, Caseyville's Madjid Djura threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rachid Abdelghani, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rachid Abdelghani stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
