Florentino Abancens might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abdelaziz Benflis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florentino Abancens ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to North Falmouth getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Yazid Saïdi-Sief hit a great ball. Ahmed Merzekane hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the North Falmouth defense, Florentino Abancens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abdelaziz Benflis. The North Falmouth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abdelaziz Benflis should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florentino Abancens to make the kick off.
