In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind North El Monte's goalkeeper Mehdi Djaout, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The North El Monte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mehdi Djaout should have stopped the shot. In the 72nd minute, Sofiane Bourebbou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tahiti FC's Mehdi Kouri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fawzi Meriem in the 74th minute of play.
