In the 14th minute Abdelmalek Fergani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lili Gaouaoui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nouara Mesbah succeeded in the game's 16th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ulysses's zone, Mohammed Ahmed Zenia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rachid Diafat came out of the goal and Mohammed Ahmed Zenia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nouara Mesbah scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lili Gaouaoui, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lili Gaouaoui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Ulysses supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ulysses would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
