After 3 played minutes Marshville FC got a freekick which was hit by Soltani Bentaala. In the 7th minute, Bouzid Chebal made a precise shot to the right of Ahmed El-Ouafi. Sturtevant's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jussef Ben Sennaoui in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hamid Mansouri saved Marshville FC from getting behind. 13 minutes into the game, Fouad Belmadi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ahmed El-Ouafi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Sturtevant's zone, Fouad Belmadi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmed El-Ouafi came out of the goal and Fouad Belmadi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute Toufik Daham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmed El-Ouafi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Toufik Daham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Sturtevant's Ahmed El-Ouafi got control of the ball when Fouad Belmadi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute, Jussef Ben Sennaoui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sturtevant's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sid Sad in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute Samir Bezzaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamid Mansouri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, one of Marshville FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marshville FC. Sid Sad walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Samir Bezzaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamid Mansouri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jussef Ben Sennaoui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fouad Belmadi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmed El-Ouafi having to interfere. Samir Bezzaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samir Bezzaz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Toufik Daham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marshville FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toufik Daham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fouad Belmadi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ahmed El-Ouafi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tayeb Mansouri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ahmed El-Ouafi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fouad Belmadi, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Samir Bezzaz hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 71 minutes, Noureddine Merzekane mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sturtevant and the Marshville FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Marshville FC booed when Sturtevant was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noureddine Merzekane didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ahmed El-Ouafi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fouad Belmadi, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute.
