But to his dismay, Lakhdar Brahami quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Mohamed Liegeon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Rabah Ulansi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 60th minute, Hemza Saïd-Guerni ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rabah Ulansi was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Mohammad Kaci Moussa's late challenge caught a Olw Charles FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mohammad Kaci Moussa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Derry FC's Mohammad Kaci Moussa got a free kick in the 63rd minute. When Kateb Cohen-Tannoudji fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Derry FC's protests and gave Kateb Cohen-Tannoudji a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Derry FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kateb Cohen-Tannoudji to maneuver through the defense. Mohamed Liegeon scored 3-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rabah Ulansi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hemza Saïd-Guerni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rabah Ulansi having to interfere. In the 96th minute of the match Hemza Saïd-Guerni shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rabah Ulansi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
