A very good chance. 0-1 became the score in the 10th minute when Faouzi Merbah elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Garapan's goal looked a bit too open when Lakhdar Brahami came free, but Abdelkader Besseghir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Garapan getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ahmed Hindi hit a great ball. Lakhdar Brahami blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abdelkader Besseghir having to make a save. In the 29th minute, Mohammad Kaci Moussa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th minute, Abdelhani Zaoui got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

A collision led to Garapan getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Guillaume Laurent Benaouf hit a great ball. Derry FC's Rabah Ulansi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menad Zahouania in the 56th minute of play. When Mohammad Kaci Moussa came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Derry FC fans jumped to their feet. Abdelnacer Belloumi hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Faouzi Merbah could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Rabah Ulansi made a huge save. If Faouzi Merbah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Menad Zahouania fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rabah Ulansi, passed just outside the right post. Menad Zahouania sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mohammad Kaci Moussa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Abdelkader Besseghir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lakhdar Brahami might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abdelkader Besseghir. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lakhdar Brahami ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Derry FC's zone, Menad Zahouania stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rabah Ulansi came out of the goal and Menad Zahouania tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 89 minutes, Cheb Daham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Derry FC and the Garapan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Faouzi Merbah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Rabah Ulansi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faouzi Merbah could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Rabah Ulansi made a huge save. When Abdelhani Zaoui fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Derry FC's protests and gave Abdelhani Zaoui a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Abdelhani Zaoui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Garapan players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Derry FC.
