Cheb Yacine could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Abderrachid Zitouni made a huge save. Jean-Michel Benzine was extremely unlucky when he, in the 8th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The Galion FC fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Galion FC's Meziane Merah-Benida looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Meziane Merah-Benida took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mohammad Mhenni. Mohammad Mhenni dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Noureddine Rahouli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 20th minute Jean-Michel Benzine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abderrachid Zitouni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cheb Yacine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chadli El-Kenz kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Chadli El-Kenz's late challenge caught a Spring Valley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chadli El-Kenz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Galion FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Chadli El-Kenz hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Noureddine Rahouli in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mohammad Mhenni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute, Ismael Souakri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mohammad Mhenni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noureddine Rahouli in the 30th minute of play. Mohammad Mhenni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noureddine Rahouli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Meziane Merah-Benida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Mohammad Mhenni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th match minute, Spring Valley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noureddine Makkeb to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the game, Galion FC's Meziane Merah-Benida nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mohammad Mhenni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Jean-Michel Benzine was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 42nd minute. Spring Valley's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 47 minutes into the match, Spring Valley's goal looked a bit too open when Meziane Merah-Benida came free, but Mohammad Mhenni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jean-Michel Benzine stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noureddine Rahouli in the 55th minute of play forced Spring Valley's goalkeeper Mohammad Mhenni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Noureddine Rahouli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohammad Mhenni having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Cheb Yacine in the 61st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 63rd minute, Meziane Merah-Benida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Noureddine Rahouli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Mohammad Mhenni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cheb Yacine kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. If Meziane Merah-Benida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute.
