A very good chance for a goal. 24 minutes into the game, Abdelkader Lacen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Port Jervis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cypress the free kick. Port Jervis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmed Aarache was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ahmed Aarache made the kick off in the second half. Ahmed Aarache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Port Jervis's Mourad Matmour got a free kick in the 54th minute. If Fawzi Kourichi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. Houari Camus made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Cypress's Fawzi Kourichi got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mourad Benchenaa charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mourad Benchenaa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Port Jervis walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
