After 7 played minutes Gonzales got a freekick which was hit by Sofiane Daham. If Tedj Merbah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Caldwell's zone, Ahmed Fahima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmond Ahmed came out of the goal and Ahmed Fahima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the match, Khalida Fellahi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmond Ahmed. Caldwell's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Khalida Fellahi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Khalida Fellahi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edmond Ahmed took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmed Fahima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Khalida Fellahi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmond Ahmed saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Caldwell's goal looked a bit too open when Khalida Fellahi came free, but Edmond Ahmed reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tedj Merbah's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Rabah Brahimi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Tedj Merbah recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35thth minute of the game Abdelnasser Sofiane who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gonzales's Rabah Brahimi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ahmed Fahima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sofiane Daham fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gonzales's protests and gave Sofiane Daham a yellow card for diving instead. Rabah Brahimi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdelnasser Sofiane in the 45th minute of the match. Caldwell's Hamid Mihoubi suffered a sore thigh after 46 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 46 minutes, Rachid Zemmamouche mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gonzales and the Caldwell players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Gonzales got a freekick which was hit by Rachid Zemmamouche. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tedj Merbah stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Caldwell getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Abdelnasser Sofiane hit a great ball. A hard shot by Sofiane Daham from long distance, 53 minutes into the match, got Edmond Ahmed's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ahmed Fahima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmond Ahmed having to interfere. In the last second Edmond Ahmed throw himself and got hold of the ball when Khalida Fellahi in the 61stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. If Tedj Merbah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rabah Brahimi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdelnasser Sofiane, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute, Tedj Merbah made a precise shot to the right of Rabah Brahimi. Gonzales's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 81st minute of the match Fouad Benhamou sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rabah Brahimi skillfully saved the ball. Tedj Merbah blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rabah Brahimi having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tedj Merbah in the 89th minute of play forced Gonzales's goalkeeper Rabah Brahimi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hocine Mezair hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Rabah Brahimi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Laurent Bougherra, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Caldwell had won after a very even match.
