Abdelaziz Toumi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lili Meriem in the 24th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After some careless play in the Oelwein FC defense, Lili Meriem kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abdelaziz Toumi. The Oelwein FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abdelaziz Toumi should have stopped the shot. If Lili Meriem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. Gurdon AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
