When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Matias Mendiko sped through Royal Gold F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jean-Michel Guessoum. After 16 played minutes Drew got a freekick which was hit by Ali Schoonmaker. Ali Schoonmaker's late challenge caught a Royal Gold F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ali Schoonmaker helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Drew getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Yacine Feraoun hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frantz Boukensa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Matias Mendiko did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Jean-Michel Guessoum 59 minutes into the match. Matias Mendiko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Michel Guessoum having to interfere. In the 74th minute Matias Mendiko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Michel Guessoum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sid Reda Madouni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Michel Guessoum having to interfere. Jean-Michel Guessoum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matias Mendiko, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mebarek N'Soumer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mebarek N'Soumer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frantz Boukensa, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The Royal Gold F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Drew were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
