Smail Madjer came out of the goal and Charles Benida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tafuna's Charles Benida got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severn FC's Smail Madjer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Severn FC from getting a goal against them.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lakhdar Fadhil Mohamed to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Tafuna's Charles Benida nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Smail Madjer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Tafuna's Abderrahmane Azzizi-Kettab played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cheb Hamrouche in the 83rd minute of play. If Hakim Djahnine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Severn FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lakhdar Fadhil Mohamed came free, but Smail Madjer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lakhdar Fadhil Mohamed in the 94th minute of play forced Severn FC's goalkeeper Smail Madjer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
