After a defensive mix-up in Madawaska FC's zone, Mustapha Amara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yonko Zapryanov came out of the goal and Mustapha Amara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Halim Piaf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fadhil Madjer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 17 minutes, Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Madawaska FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Halim Piaf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni in the 23rd minute of play forced Gloucester City FC's goalkeeper Fadhil Madjer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yonko Zapryanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mustapha Amara, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Fadhil Madjer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Halim Piaf in the 35th minute of play. Halim Piaf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fadhil Madjer having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Halim Piaf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fadhil Madjer was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. 41 minutes into the match, Gloucester City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni came free, but Fadhil Madjer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustapha Amara in the 46th minute of play forced Madawaska FC's goalkeeper Yonko Zapryanov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fadhil Madjer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni in the 51st minute of the match. Fadhil Madjer acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 56th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mohammad Zenia. 61 minutes into the game, Mustapha Amara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Yonko Zapryanov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Abd al-Asis Ben Bella took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fadhil Madjer. Gloucester City FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Madawaska FC's Mohammad Zenia got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Madawaska FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Madawaska FC's Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 85th minute Abdelhamid Saïd-Guerni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fadhil Madjer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
