Franklin Lakes's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Medjadi Cavalli scored to the left of an out of position Rafik Zoheir Mansouri, making the score, 1-0. Chakib Al-Jazairia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rafik Zoheir Mansouri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franklin Lakes were furious when Noureddine Khadra was red carded, 28 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Franklin Lakes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! After a rather tough play, Franklin Lakes's Kader Abbas got a free kick in the 36th minute. Rachid Menguellet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakut Tunçdağ having to interfere. Medjadi Cavalli struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Rafik Zoheir Mansouri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Purples. In the 44th minute, Smail Matmour hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Franklin Lakes's Kateb Kouri got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rachid Menguellet was the one to do the kick off. Rachid Menguellet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sakut Tunçdağ read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Purples had played much better football throughout.
