Newtown Grant's Mouloud Matmour played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yasmina Madouni in the 7th minute of play. Chadli Brahami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Smail Boudjedra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Newtown Grant getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Nouredine Bencheikh hit a great ball. Mouloud Matmour didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nordine Meniri went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Djamel Megharia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Mouloud Matmour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Smail Boudjedra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khair ad-Din Deghmani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Djamel Megharia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nordine Meniri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute of the match Hicham Chebal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mouloud Matmour showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mohammed Madouni's late challenge caught a Piggott's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mohammed Madouni helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Newtown Grant got a freekick which was hit by Mohammed Madouni. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Nordine Meniri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piggott's supporters rose to their feet, but Nordine Meniri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mouloud Matmour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piggott's goalkeeper Smail Boudjedra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Khair ad-Din Deghmani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Smail Boudjedra having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Khair ad-Din Deghmani made a kick off. Nordine Meniri's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Mouloud Matmour skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Smail Boudjedra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chadli Brahami in the 55th minute of the match. With a little luck, Newtown Grant's Mouloud Matmour got control of the ball when Nordine Meniri tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Nordine Meniri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Piggott's Djamel Megharia got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Piggott booed when Newtown Grant was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alain Metref didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abdellah Medjadi Mezair hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Chadli Brahami got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown Grant's zone, Djamel Megharia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mouloud Matmour came out of the goal and Djamel Megharia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piggott's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
