Spectators: 6713 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1713, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Karim Madouni started the match with the kick off. When Sanford's Jussef Ben Camus in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vernal's goalie prevented a goal. In the 10th match minute, Vernal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mouloud Kourichi to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mouloud Kourichi in the 12th minute of play forced Sanford's goalkeeper Edmond Dib to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Karim Madouni left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sanford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Vernal's Smail Khalef played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karim Madouni in the 30th minute of play. In the 33rdth minute of the game Mouloud Kourichi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sanford's Edmond Dib was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th match minute, Sanford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amar Toumi to maneuver through the defense. Mouloud Kourichi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Edmond Dib tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jussef Ben Camus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Smail Khalef tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vernal's Hamid Saïdi-Sief got a free kick in the 39th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Belaid Messaoud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sanford's supporters rose to their feet, but Belaid Messaoud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Smail Khalef breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mouloud Kourichi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karim Madouni in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Smail Khalef saved Vernal from getting behind. A collision led to Vernal getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jean Mimoun hit a great ball. Sanford's Karim Madouni got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Hocine Belmadi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Abderrahmane Kraouche managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vernal's supporters rose to their feet, but Abderrahmane Kraouche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmond Dib breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mouloud Kourichi took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edmond Dib. Edmond Dib dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Smail Khalef made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Jussef Ben Camus sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Sanford getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Jussef Ben Camus hit a great ball. Mouloud Kourichi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Karim Madouni dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Smail Khalef, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Jean Mimoun managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vernal's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Mimoun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmond Dib breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abdelmalek Liegeon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edmond Dib. Sanford's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Edmond Dib took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abderrahmane Kraouche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sanford's Edmond Dib played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mouloud Kourichi in the 88th minute of play. Mouloud Kourichi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edmond Dib came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Vernal's Abderrahmane Kraouche. But to his dismay, Abderrahmane Kraouche quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vernal's goalkeeper Smail Khalef, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
