West Newton FC's Mohamed Dahar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tedj Hadjar in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to West Newton FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Fodil Kharroubi hit a great ball. Djamel Besseghir recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tedj Hadjar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed Dahar having to interfere. West Newton FC's Mohamed Dahar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save West Newton FC from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cheb Cavalli to make the kick off. Tedj Hadjar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed Dahar having to interfere. Fodil Bentifour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Djamel Besseghir made a precise shot to the right of Mohamed Dahar. West Newton FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Cheb Cavalli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chadli Khaled having to make a save. Chadli Khaled took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cheb Cavalli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Djamel Besseghir in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mohamed Dahar saved West Newton FC from getting behind. In the 84th minute Tedj Hadjar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Dahar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Abdelnacer Moll was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Philipsburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave West Newton FC the free kick. A collision led to Philipsburg getting a freekick after 88 minutes play.
